touchaheart Nigeria reports that at the Toll-Gate sector of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, a truck lost control, resulting in at least three fatalities and two injuries.
The incident happened on Tuesday in Ota, Ogun State, according to Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Federal Road Safety Corps’ Ogun Sector Commander.
Six people, two cars, and two motorcycles were all involved in the accident, which happened at around 7:35 p.m., according to Umar.
He said,
that while traveling on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway inbound, a cement-conveying truck experienced brake failure and lost control, colliding with two cars and two Bajaj motorbikes.
Three people died as a result of the disaster, while one person escaped without injury and two other people had injuries of varying severity.
As the injured were being treated at the General Hospital, Ota, the bodies of the deceased had been placed in the morgue of the General Hospital, Ifo.
The mishap was a result of driving too fast, according to the sector commander.
Umar counseled drivers to avoid driving too fast and to check the condition of their cars before placing them on the road in order to avoid crashes.
