According to a statement released by the Met Police on March 16, 2023, a man was sentenced to prison after luring his ex-girlfriend to an east London high street before stabbing her 18 times in a rage. She was left battling for her life.

Touchaheart Nigeria reports that On Friday, March 10, Robin Ibrahim, 28, of Brock Place in Tower Hamlets, received a 25-year prison term at Basildon Crown Court.

On Thursday, September 22, he entered a guilty plea to attempted murder and having a dangerous weapon in a public place in the same court.

Ibrahim requested his ex to meet him outside a bank in Hornchurch High Street on June 28, 2021, claiming he was going to refund a sizeable amount of money he owed her, according to Detective Constable Ollie Jones, the investigating officer from the East Area’s Public Protection unit.

“Ibrahim lied to his ex-girlfriend saying he had the substantial amount of money he owed her so she would agree to meet him. He then subjected her to a brutal, sustained attack where he stabbed her 18 times. I believe Ibrahim would’ve continued his savage attack had members of the public, including the victim’s sister, not rushed to her aid and detained Ibrahim until the police arrived,”

Because of Ibrahim’s potential for harm, police from the East Area Public Protection team and CID collaborated to conduct quick investigations and compile enough evidence to charge him. Ibrahim soon came to understand the strength of the evidence against him and that he was forced to admit his horrific conduct.

“I would like to commend the victim for the bravery she has shown throughout. I hope Ibrahim being jailed for a substantial amount of time gives her a small part of closure. I’d also like to praise the members of the public for the courage they showed in rushing to the victim’s aid on the day, preventing her from enduring further injuries or worse.”

According to testimony given in court, on June 28, 2021, Ibrahim asked his ex-girlfriend to meet him outside a bank in Hornchurch’s High Street so he could pay her the significant sum of money he owed her.

After missing the bank’s opening time, they talked outside before the victim and Ibrahim returned to her car in a neighboring car park in Billet Lane so that he could give her the promised sum of money.

Ibrahim attacked the victim as she slid to the side of her car as they approached the car lot, grabbing a knife from his bag. He stabbed her 18 times before heroic bystanders boldly intervened to stop him. Ibrahim was promptly detained by police on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a dangerous weapon.

The victim required emergency surgery after being transported by ambulance to the hospital with potentially fatal injuries. She received treatment for her injuries before being released.

Fast-paced investigations by the detectives led to the discovery of critical CCTV footage of the assault and Ibrahim’s route to and from the crime site.

He was charged on June 30, 2021, and he was found guilty.
