Federal High Court Suspends Proceedings Ahead Gov Polltouchaheart Nigeria reports that the Federal High Court of Nigeria announced it would halt operations for two working days—Friday, March 17, and Monday, March 20—in advance of Saturday’s governorship and house elections.

 

Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Justice of the Federal High Court, ordered the judges to preside over cases through Thursday, March 16, before adjourning for vacation.

On the other hand, they will continue on Tuesday, March 21, two days following the polls.

The judges will be able to participate in the elections during the break.

 

This information was provided by Judge Tsoho in a circular dated March 15 and captioned “Break for the 2023 gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections.”
All of the judges of the court received it.

 

It stated

Your Lordships are, by this circular, permitted a brief break to perform your civic duties during the Governorship and House of Assembly elections,

 

The break will take place from Friday, March 17, 2023, until Monday, March 20, 2023. On March 21, 2023, all honorable judges will get back to work.

 

The administrative judges in the Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt judicial divisions shall see to it that a judge is appointed to handle urgent cases throughout the period for the North, South-West, and South-South/South-East geopolitical areas, respectively.
