Mohammed Abdullahi, 19, has been taken into custody by the Yobe State Police Command for abducting and murdering his neighbor’s eleven-year-old son in the Gujba local government area of the state.
The teenager was among suspects paraded at command headquarters in Damaturu on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Briefing newsmen, the state police commissioner, CP Ahmed Garba said 31 armed robberies, 12 kidnappings, 55 homicides, as well as 115 theft offences were recorded in the first quota of 2024.

“Mohammed Abdullahi, a 19-year-old suspect from Buniyadi, abducted an 11-year-old son of his neighbour and later demanded a ransom of 600,000 naira,” the CP stated.
“When the parents of the victim could not meet his demand, he bought drugs and administered them to the victim to sleep and the victim later died.
“The suspect later buried the corpse in their house while his parents were away and was later apprehended by the police.”
