TOUCHAHEART – The tragic incident at the Inner Galaxy Steel Company in Abia State has sparked outrage and tension among the local community.
Ocheze Ogbonna, a female crane operator, was allegedly pushed to her death by a Chinese manager, who had reportedly made unwanted advances towards her.
The incident has raised concerns about the treatment of Nigerian workers by Chinese expatriates and the role of security agents in the incident.
Youths from the host community, Umuahala-Obuzor Asa, barricaded the gates of the steel company, demanding justice for Ocheze’s death.
However, they were dispersed by soldiers guarding the company, with reports of some protesters being shot and beaten.
The community is calling for an investigation into the activities of the Chinese expatriates at Inner Galaxy company and seeking justice for the deceased.

The incident has sparked renewed calls for the government to investigate the activities of Chinese expatriates in Nigeria and ensure that they are held accountable for their actions.
