The National Judicial Council has recommended Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the next Chief Justice of Nigeria in an impromptu closed-door meeting in Abuja.
The council also recommended 27 others as state high court judges in the ongoing meeting, which was initially scheduled for Friday.
Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the outgoing CJN will retire on August 22, having reached the mandatory age of 70, paving the way for a new CJN.
