Nnamdi Kanu Convicted on Terrorism Counts After Courtroom Ejection

Justice James Omotosho convicted IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu on at least five counts of terrorism, including threats of violence, enforcing sit-at-home orders, and leading the banned group, based on Radio Biafra broadcasts.

Nnamdi Kanu, arrested in 2021 after jumping bail, protested the ruling’s jurisdiction and demanded to give a final address, leading to his removal as the judge proceeded alone.

The live-broadcast decision affirmed the prosecution’s evidence and dismissed Kanu’s challenges, with sentencing still pending amid southeast security concerns.
