See How 2022 World Cup Schedule Affects Champions League
The dates of the Champions League group stages have had to be changed as a result of the winter World Cup.
The beginning of the 2022 World Cup is scheduled for November 20, while the conclusion is scheduled for December 18. The Champions League will not clash with this event, thanks to changes made by UEFA, the entity that oversees European football.
For the first time ever, FIFA’s premier international competition will take place in the middle of a European season rather than at the end, during the customary June-July period.
