See Video As Ukrainian surface-to-air missile shoot down over Kharkiv, 88 Russian Plane claimed destroyed
Footage of the suspected Russian jets being shot down above Ukraine’s second largest city, Kharkiv, has surfaced.
According to Oleg Synegubov, the regional governor of Kharkiv, the Russian Su-25 aircraft was shot down by Kharkiv’s Air Defense Forces.
The jets erupted into a massive blaze after being hit by two surface-to-air missiles (SAM) over Kharkiv’s city center, according to the Kyiv Independent, before the twisted wreckage dropped out of the sky and detonated again upon collision with the earth.
As the nation’s armed forces continue to put up a valiant fight against the Russian onslaught, Ukrainian soldiers can be heard celebrating at the sight of their conquerors’ flaming planes shooting down from the sky.
Synegubov said the bomber was part of a squadron of five to seven planes that had been hitting Ukraine’s second city on a regular basis.
This comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin maintains his indiscriminate bombing attacks in cities and hospitals, which have resulted in the deaths of civilians.
