Police operatives known as the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) intercepted a busload of illicit drugs in the Mile 2 region of Lagos State in the early hours of today, April 3, 2022.
The drugs loaded in a Lagos color LT bus with the registration number AGL 205 YD belonged to one Alhaji, better known as General in Mushin, according to preliminary investigations.

A member of the drug syndicate admitted to the police that they picked up the consignment at Alaba Rago about 2200 hours yesterday for transportation to Mushin, with a street value of roughly Ten Million Naira (10,000,000.00).
However, their luck ran out when RRS patrol officers stopped the bus for a routine check around 4 a.m. today.
Oluwole Omojuyitan, 40, a member of the syndicate who had initially fled the scene on a motorcycle, was apprehended by the operatives after returning with an amount of N500,000.00 to bribe the authorities to release the narcotics and suspects.
Ojukwu Omanogho, 36, and Hope Jumbo, 40, are two more gang members who have been detained.
The state commissioner of police, CP Abiodun Alabi, while commending Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi and the team, directed that the suspects and exhibits be transferred to the Command Headquarters for further investigations, according to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesperson for the state police command.
