Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin Of Oyo, Was Laid To Rest
Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo, has been laid to rest.
His body was laid to rest on Saturday within the palace grounds, just a day after he was declared dead in a hospital in Ado Ekiti, the state capital of Ekiti.

Alaafin, also known as ‘Iku Baba Yeye,’ was 83 years old at the time of his death.
Islamic ceremonies were performed on late Alaafin’s body after his death was announced, signalling the start of his ultimate journey home.
Members of the late traditional ruler’s family and several of his chiefs joined Islamic clerics led by the Chief Imam of Oyo town to offer prayers for his soul’s peace.
Following the prayers, his remains was returned to the palace for the final burial.
