Touchaheart reports that to commemorate this year’s Workers Day and Eidul-Fitr celebrations, the Federal Government of Nigeria, led by President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared Monday, May 2nd, and Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 as Public Holidays.

On behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, declared two days of public holidays for Eid celebration on Thursday, April 28, 2022, according to this online news portal.

The Minister, who thanked workers around the country on the occasion, praised them for their hard work, diligence, and sacrifice, stating that their efforts are largely responsible for the country’s greatness and the respect it currently enjoys in the international community.

According to the Minister, “Labour is the very essence of humanity. We are alive because we work and only the dead is incapable of working.”

“Aregbesola, therefore, enjoins workers to imbibe the culture of productivity, saying “The end of work is productivity. It is productivity that leads to the satisfactory provision of goods and services and wealth creation. It is, therefore, the path to national and individual prosperity.”

Aregbesola advised workers to elevate the level of their craft in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s drive to rev up the vehicle of governance and ensure that all Nigerians profit from the country to the fullest extent possible.

The Minister also wishes to congratulate all Muslims on the successful conclusion of Ramadan.

Aregbesola urged all Muslims to imbibe and practise the values of kindness, love, tolerance, peace, self-denial, sacrifice, and good neighbourliness that the Holy Prophet Muhammad displayed (Peace be upon Him).

“The self-restrain, self-denial, sacrifice and deep spiritual consciousness that accompanied the fasting period should not end but be maintained and improved upon, in order to be a better person and true worshipper”, the minister advises all Muslims.

The minister expresses optimism that security difficulties in some parts of the country will soon be a thing of the past, saying that the government is working hard and taking all necessary steps to ensure that Nigerians enjoy unrestricted peace throughout the country.

Aregbesola reassured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration is totally dedicated to the safety and security of all citizens and foreigners.

The Minister congratulates the security services on their achievements in the fight against criminals around the country, as well as the restoration of peace to formerly troubled areas.

He asked Nigerians to contribute to the country’s security architecture by being vigilant and reporting suspicious individuals and activities to the nearest law enforcement agencies, emphasising that security is everyone’s duty.

Meanwhile, Touchaheart Nigeria reports that the Minister wished all Muslims a good Eidul-Fitr celebration and prayed for Allah’s peace, blessings, and favours. Ameen.
