President Buhari’s Convoy Attacked By Bandit
The motorcade of President Buhari was ambushed by bandits.
Touchaheart reports that bandits ambushed President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy as it traveled to Katsina State in northwest Nigeria.
This online news source is aware that a few security personnel were hurt during the attack on President Buhari’s convoy as it resisted the bandits.
Meanwhile, Touchaheart Nigeria reports that In preparation for the Sallah holidays, the President’s advance team was being transported to Katsina by the convoy. President Buhari was not traveling in the team’s convoy.
The Presidency responded to the attack by confirming that the convoy carrying President Muhammadu Buhari’s advance team had been attacked. Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President for Media & Publicity, revealed this in a statement.
The statement read, “The Presidency has described as sad and unwelcome, the shooting incident near Dutsinma, Katsina State, at the convoy of cars carrying the Advance Team of security guards, protocol and media officers ahead of the President, Muhammadu Buhari’s trip to Daura for Sallah.
“The attackers opened fire on the convoy from ambush positions but were repelled by the military, police and DSS personnel accompanying the convoy.
“Two persons in the convoy are receiving treatment for the minor injuries they suffered.
“All the other personnel, staff and vehicles made it safely to Daura.”
