Tinubu’s Running Mate: He Chooses A Muslim- Ganduje
2023: A Muslim has supposedly been chosen to be Tinubu’s running mate, Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje says.
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC’s presidential candidate, has reportedly agreed to choose a Muslim as his running mate, according to Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The Muslim-Muslim ticket has drawn criticism, with differing perspectives taken by supporters and detractors.
According to Daily Trust, Tinubu chose Katsina politician Alhaji Kabir Ibrahim Masari as a stand-in to meet the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) deadline.
As part of celebrations for Eid El Kabir, approximately 100 clerics gathered at the state government house, and Ganduje claimed Tinubu was counseled to choose a Muslim running mate.
“We have advised him to pick a Muslim deputy and he has agreed. A Muslim-Muslim ticket is a reality. It is not something new in Nigeria,”
Additionally, he urged the religious leaders to pray for Tinubu to become Nigeria’s president in 2023.
He urged the clerics to pray for the prosperity and tranquility of his administration, but he also requested them to pray for his deputy governor, Yusuf Gawuna, who has emerged as the APC candidate for governor in the Kano State elections in 2023.
