Donald Trump remembers Ivana Trump’s “wonderful life” at her funeral
Ivana Trump lived a “beautiful life,” the former president recalled as loved ones paid their respects to her on Wednesday. Ivana Trump was a businesswoman and 1980s-style icon who assisted Donald Trump in building the empire that put him on the path to the White House.
At Ivana Trump’s funeral Mass in a Manhattan church, the former president attended alongside all of his children, numerous other family members, and friends.
“A very sad day, but at the same time a celebration of a wonderful and beautiful life,” he wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, before he, former first lady Melania Trump and their son, Barron headed to St. Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic Church.
The gold-toned coffin was carried from St. Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic Church in Manhattan by Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric Trump, together with their father and families. When his sister was holding the hand of one of her little children, who was holding a red flower, Eric Trump put an arm around her shoulders for a brief moment.
Family friends including Jeanine Pirro, co-host of Fox News’ “The Five,” and Charles Kushner, a real estate mogul and the father of Ivanka Trump’s husband, Jared Kushner, attended the funeral along with Tiffany Trump, the daughter of the former president and his second wife, Marla Maples. Ivana Trump’s longtime friend and fashion designer Dennis Basso were also present.
The Mass was “an elegant, wonderful send-off for Ivana Trump,” longtime friend R. Couri Hay said as he emerged.
The 73-year-old passed away at her Manhattan home, according to a Thursday statement from Trump’s family. The reason for her death, according to the authorities, was blunt impact injuries to her torso.
Ivana and Donald Trump wed from 1977 until 1992 after meeting in the 1970s. They were a power couple in the 1980s, and she rose to fame on her own. Her updo of blond hair and glamorous appearance made her instantly recognizable.
Ivana Trump contributed to her husband’s companies as well, overseeing one of his casinos in Atlantic City and choosing some of the architectural features for Trump Tower in New York.
Although their highly public divorce was acrimonious, they had recently become friends. Ivana Trump was a fervent supporter of Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign for president and said that they communicated frequently.
