The attempted abduction of Rt Hon. Yakubu Sanda, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, was thwarted by men from the Plateau State Police Command.
In a statement made by the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo, on January 6 at around 11.20 p.m., as the Speaker arrived at Federal Low-cost in Jos-South, three unidentified gunmen in a gray CR-V followed him there and attempted to kidnap him.
However, their mission was foiled by the brave police officers on duty and the quick action of the Divisional Police Officer.
Alabo stated that the command is putting in a determined effort to find the evading suspects and have them apprehended.
