Super Falcons To Take On USA In A Second Friendly
Tuesday’s second international friendly on a US tour will pit the Super Falcons of Nigeria against the USA’s senior women’s team.
The USA defeated the nine-time African champion 4-0 in the opening game of the double friendly between the two senior national teams.
The thrashing of the Nigerian squad was completed on Saturday at the Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Missouri, with to a brace from Sophia Smith and one each from Lindsay Horan.
The 9th FIFA Women’s World Cup finals, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand in the summer of 2019, have both teams qualified.
The friendly game on Tuesday is scheduled to start at 11 p.m. Nigerian time at Audi Field in Washington.
As the Super Falcons attempt to avenge their humiliation in the first match, coach Rany Waldrum is anticipated to field established stars such Chia Maka Nnadozie, Osinachi Ohale, Uchenna Kanu, Toni Payne, Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie, and Ifeoma Onumonu.
