Touchaheart Nigeria reports that Paul Onuachu, a striker for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Genk of Belgium, has been ruled out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

In Sunday’s 1-1 home draw against Royal Antwerp, Onuachu suffered a hamstring injury.

Prior to his injury, the former FC Midtylland striker had opened the scoring for Genk in the first half.

After suffering an injury, the 27-year-old was replaced by Ike Ugbo 20 minutes from time.

After Victor Osimhen was ruled out of the competition last month, Onuachu’s injury is yet another serious setback for Nigeria’s chances of having a significant impression at the championship.

Onuachu is anticipated to be sidelined for around a month while he recovers.
