Sorry to all the Donald Trump supporters out there, but this editor really hopes Ron DeSantis is elected president in 2024. DeSantis even travelled to Iowa this week, indicating that he intends to run for president. We’d like to see him make America Florida again, but according to MSNBC, DeSantis’ lust for power has led him to destroy the entire state of Florida, which re-elected him by a 19-point margin in November.
Ron DeSantis' desperation for power is destroying an entire state. https://t.co/flLYyBUqjl

Michael A. Cohen, an MSNBC columnist, explains:
Florida, according to Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, is the “citadel of freedom” and the “place where woke goes to die.” The reality is a policy agendad characterise primarily by pettiness, cruelty, and a disturbing disregard for fundamental democratic norms. If states are the so-called laboratories of American democracy, then Florida is the meth lab.
…

DeSantis has escalated his attack on the First Amendment in recent weeks. He has expressed a desire to weaken libel laws, making it easier to sue media organisations for defamation. This direct attack on press freedom was picked up by at least one Florida legislator, who last week introduced legislation requiring bloggers who write about the state government and its leaders to register with the state.
When not violating fundamental constitutional principles, DeSantis and his Republican allies force-feed Florida’s students their interpretation of American history. While DeSantis claims to be fighting “woke indoctrination” in Florida, he is actually trying to warp their minds with his own brand of indoctrination.
Cohen mentions legislation that would require bloggers to register with the state… without mentioning that DeSantis told the press that he opposed the legislation, which was drafted by a single Republican state senator and had nothing to do with DeSantis.
What do you mean failing?
We all see Florida a thriving state.

I think Florida is in great shape comparatively

Nearly 65,000 New Yorkers traded in their state driver's licenses for a Sunshine State equivalent in 2022, according to data from Florida's Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. What is MSNBC’s response to this reality?

I'm living good in Florida. 🤷♂️

The rest of America should only be so lucky as to experience the kind of "destruction" Florida is facing.

Show us how Florida has been “destroyed” with specific examples.
