Around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, a group of about 20 gunmen reportedly stormed the estate.
The victims were taken from two different residences in the estate, according to our correspondent, who spoke on the phone with a resident of the neighborhood who only went by the name Hassan.
The tragedy, he said, had paralyzed the neighborhood.
The gunmen arrived at Grow Homes Estate along Kuchibiyi at around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, he claimed, to carry out an operation. Gunshots could be heard, and the incident caused terror throughout the entire village.
We visited the estate this morning and discovered the shooters were in their early 20s. They shifted from one flat to the next, robbing residents of their possessions. Also, they took nine people, including women and children, from two apartments on the estate.
They got away through the jungle that connected the settlement to Paze village. In an effort to locate the abducted residents, the police and the estate security have been searching the bush since the morning.
When reached, Josephine Adeh, a spokeswoman for the Abuja police, confirmed the event.
She stated that to make sure the victims were found, the local bushes were being searched by the police and estate security.
