You might be eligible for the University of Birmingham Nigeria Outstanding Achievement Scholarship.     Level of Study and Subject Area

    The scholarship is available for any undergraduate programme at the University of Birmingham in the following subject areas: Arts and Law, Engineering and Physical Sciences, Life and Environmental Sciences, and Social Sciences.

     

    Nationality and Type of Award

    The University of Birmingham Nigeria Outstanding Achievement Scholarship is a joint award with local representatives and is available for Nigerian students only. It is a university award that covers tuition fees for the first year only of a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2023.

     

    Deadline for Applying

    The scholarship application deadline is July 31, 2023.

     

    Eligibility Criteria

    To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must:

    • Have received an offer and selected the University of Birmingham as their firm choice for a full-time undergraduate programme starting September 2023.

    • Meet the academic conditions of their offer to the programme.

    • Be classed as Nigeria domiciled.

    •Be classed by the University as an overseas fee payer for tuition fee purposes and be able to pay the outstanding tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.

    • Have sufficient funds to cover the full cost of living at the University of Birmingham, plus any visa/travel expenses associated with studying in the UK.

    • Start their studies at the University in September 2023 (the scholarship award cannot be deferred).

    • Be registered with and have their undergraduate study application attached to one of the local representatives listed on the University’s website.

    • Accept an offer from the University of Birmingham and select Birmingham as their firm choice by the scholarship application deadline and be in contact with one of the local representatives listed above by the scholarship deadline of July 31, 2023.

    • Upon enrolment in September 2023, pay their net tuition fees for the first year by November 1, immediately following enrolment.
    Value of Award

     

    The scholarship award is for £2,500 towards tuition fees for the first year only of a full-time undergraduate degree programme at the University of Birmingham UK campus, starting September 2023.

     

    How to Apply

    To apply for the scholarship, students must have;

    • Accepted an offer from the University of Birmingham.
    • Selected Birmingham as their firm first choice.
    • Be in contact with and registered at one of the local representatives listed on the University’s website by the scholarship deadline of July 31, 2023.

    Selection for the award will be based on academic and extracurricular merit. No interview will be required.

    Decisions will be announced in August and the scholarships will be awarded upon the students’ enrolment in September 2023.
