Patrick Vieira, a legendary player for Arsenal, has acknowledged that the club’s performance deteriorated as a result of the injury to William Saliba.
Saliba, who has established himself as one of the top defenders in the Premier League this year, has been a key contributor to Arsenal’s success this season.
According to Viera, the Gunners began dropping matches and giving away goals as soon as the Frenchman had a back ailment.
Because he was giving them this kind of physical presence, losing Saliba has been a big one for them, Vieira told Sky Sports.
“It was particularly difficult for the two centre backs against Manchester City and Erling Haaland, and losing [William Saliba] was the beginning of Arsenal losing games and giving up goals.”
The Frenchman has missed Arsenal’s last five games because of an injury. Saliba is also anticipated to miss this weekend’s match between Arsenal and Newcastle in the Premier League.
