Iconic singer, Tina Turner died yesterday at the age of 83 in her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, not far from Zurich after a protracted illness, Daily Mail reports.
The ‘Queen of Rock’n Roll’ was how many referred to her. Her managers issued a statement that read, “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”
She was born in 1939, in Tennessee’s Brownsville. She rose to fame in the 1970s as a member of the Ike and Tina Turner combo before beginning one of the most successful solo careers of any female singer in history.
She had three children and was referred to as the Queen of Rock ‘N’ Roll.
