Raymond Aleogho Anthony Dokpesi, who is also known as AIT’s Dokpesi launched Ray Power FM and African Independent Television (AIT) in 1993, after the broadcast sector was deregulated in 1992. He was the first independent broadcaster in Nigeria.
The media guru with the title of Ezomo of Weppa-Wanno Kingdom was just briefly detained by UK Police upon arrival at Terminal 2 Heathrow Airport in London on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
A London Police source told the online news outlet Peoples Gazette that Mr. Dokpesi’s detention is connected to a rape allegation from August 2019. The insider stated, “The individual has been bailed, pending additional inquiries, to a date in early April.”
Cause of death
Touchaheart Nigeria reports that according to a family friend who pleaded anonymity, Mr. Dokpesi fell from a treadmill at his Abuja home on Monday morning. He died as a result of the accident. The deceased was thought to be recovering after having a stroke in February.
