EFCC detains ex-minister, Pauline Tallen over alleged N2bn fraud

Mrs. Pauline Tallen, the Minister of Women Affairs during the administration of the recently-departed President Muhammadu Buhari, was questioned by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.

The ex-minister was questioned by EFCC investigators until 8 o’clock in the evening after arriving at the Abuja Zonal Command of the Commission at 12 p.m. on an invitation.

The claims against the former minister were vague, but a person acquainted with the matter told Channels Television that they came close to corrupt enrichment because they included N2 billion.

It’s claimed that some of the funds were taken away from the African First Lady Peace Mission Project.

Wilson Uwujaren, the Commission’s spokesperson, could not be reached for comment.

According to sources, the former minister was still being held by the anti-graft organization as of Saturday morning.

This new development comes a day after the EFCC questioned Kayode Fayemi, the outgoing governor of Ekiti State. (Adapted from an article on Channels TV)
