Bandits steal 100 cows, kill Kaduna Fulani chief & four children

A Fulani Chief named Ardon Birni, the Keyawe of the Zazzau Emirate named Alhaji Shuaibu Mohammed, and his four children were killed by some bandits who attacked Dorayi in the Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to a family source, the burglars, who number around five, broke into the house on Saturday night at around 10pm.

The wife of the deceased, Malama Halima Shuaibu, said “The Ardo was brought out of his bedroom and shot twice on his head. He died on the spot.”

She added that the bandits went from room to room in the compound and killed her four children who were married with children.

She identified the slain children as Adamu Shuaibu, Musa Shuaibu, Abubakar Shuaibu, and Ibrahim Haruna.

She also said after attacking the compound, the bandits also rustled over 100 cattle.

The only survivor of the attack among Ardo’s children, Abdurrahman Shuaibu, also described the heinous incident, saying the bandits shot two more individuals as they fled the area.

When called, Muhammad Jalige, the public relations officer for the Kaduna State Police, stated that he had not yet received information on the event from the DPO Zaria City.

In the meantime, on Saturday, Katsina Police Command agents, along with hunters and vigilantes, attacked six terrorist camps in the state’s Batsari and Jibia Local Government Areas, killing five terrorists in the process.

Abubakar Idris, 18, a suspected well-known terrorist, was also detained during the raid.

The operations were carried out at Marake, Garin Yara, and Garin Labo villages, all in Batsari Local Government Area and at the camp of an alleged terrorist leader known as Audu Lankai in the Jibia Local Government Area.

The command’s spokesman, Abubakar Aliyu, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
