Touchaheart Nigeria reports that bandits have allegedly killed four police officers on Gusau-Sokoto road in Bungudu Local Government area of Zamfara.
Haruna Musa, a resident of the region, stated that Ba significant number of bandits carried out an ambush and shot the police officers who were stationed on duty along the road on Monday.
Musa noted that the bandits opened fire on the police officers who were stationed at a roadblock they had set up not far from Bungudu town, killing four of them.
Musa stated: “The police officers were on duty and mounted a roadblock not knowing that the bandits were hiding in a bush near the roadblock.”
“The bandits suddenly came out of their hiding place and opened fire on the police officers, killing four of them.”
Gunmen Bandits
Musa insisted that after the incident, the bandits proceeded to a neighboring village where they rustled numerous animals and looted food supplies.
SP Yazid Abubakar, the spokesperson for the state police command, verified the attack but claimed to be unaware of any casualties among the police officers during the assault.
