Reprisal attack: Soldiers Batter LASTMA officer (video)
Unidentified soldiers attacked a member of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) in the early hours of today, August 14, in the Ojota region of the state, knocking him out in what looks to be retaliation.
Recall that a video of an army officer battling with a LASTMA representative went viral last week. Unknown factors may have contributed to their altercation, but the viral video shows the LASTMA officer striking the soldier with his club before the two men started fighting.
In a video that has gone viral, soldiers numbering eight with makeshift masks on their faces, got hold of the LASTMA officer and beat him for several minutes. One of the irate soldiers was seen battering the officer to the ground as other LASTMA officers fled the scene.

Confirming the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, through the Director Operations, Mr. A. Peter, said
“We have reported the incident to the higher authorities of the army. They are already intervening in the matter. We will update you in due course. The act is totally condemnable.”
