Suspected thief was knocked down by a car while fleeing after snatching a phone from a woman in Kano State.
Kano State Police Command Spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident on his social media handles on Sunday evening, January 14, 2024, said the man was knocked down while crossing the popular Zoo Road.
Now I received a report from Zoo Road that someone took a woman’s phone. He was crossing the road when a car hit him. We need to take him to the hospital,” the PPRO stated.
In an update on the incident, Kiyawa said the suspect was receiving medical attention following injuries he sustained.
“After we took (the man who stole the phone) to the hospital, he was moving a bit, his spine was broken and his head was cracked”, adding that the hospital was thinking of taking him to the emergency department.”
