Supreme court affirms Governor Uba Sani’s election

The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Isah Ashiru, contesting the victory of Governor Uba Sani in Kaduna State.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Sani as the winner of the exercise. The All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer polled 730,002 votes to defeat his closest rival Ashiru who had 719,196 votes.

The Supreme Court, upholding the decisions of the tribunal and the court of appeal due to the appeal’s lack of merit, did not impose any costs for the judgment.
