The truck driver involved in the fatal accident that claimed the life of a recent graduate from Abia State Polytechnic, Abia, has been apprehended by authorities.
Mary Ogechi Ezekiel, who graduated with distinction from the Accounting Department, went to the school on Tuesday, March 5, for clearance ahead of her NYSC enrollment.
However, as she exited the school gate, a tricycle hit her and before she could get up, a fast-moving truck crushed her to death, (read here).
Following the accident, students from the school staged a protest and obstructed the expressway.
The police stepped in and calmed the angry students before detaining the driver.
An investigation is underway.
