JAMB Approves University And Polytechnic 2022 Cut-Off Mark
The 2022 Cut-Off Mark for Universities and Polytechnics has been accepted by JAMB.
Touchaheart reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and stakeholders in tertiary education agreed 140 as the minimal cut-off mark for 2022 admission to the country’s institutions on Thursday, July 21, 2022, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
This online news source is aware that the cutoff point for polytechnics and colleges of education was set at 100 for the class of 2022.
At the 2022 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Degree, Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE), and National Diploma (ND) now taking place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, the capital of the country, the choices regarding the cut-off marks were made.
The meeting is being presided over by Adamu Adamu, the minister of education.
All admissions to the nation’s universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education must be processed through the Central Admission Processing System, Adamu stated in his inaugural statement to the tertiary institutions in Nigeria (CAPS).
The minister stated that even if the violations are discovered after the heads of the institutions have left their positions, they will still be prosecuted.
“Every school is at liberty to establish the minimum UTME score acceptable to it for admission,” was the resolution that was adopted during the conference. As with regular admissions, each institution will decide how many points are necessary for direct entry admission. However, no institution may propose or approve any applicant for direct admittance who has fewer than two points.
“In the same vein, no institution can admit/accept the transfer of a candidate for any degree programme unless the candidate has spent on full-time, not less than two consecutive sessions in the institution.”
Meanwhile, Touchaheart Nigeria reports that the meeting also resolved that “no institution will be allowed to recommend or admit any candidate whose total score is below the minimum score proposed by the institution and approved by the Policy Meeting. The totality of all scores being used for the ranking of the candidate shall be taken into account in determining the percentage minimum score.”
